GlobeMeeting™

GlobeMeeting™ is a 3Mb downloadable application that must be installed locally on each computer that will require its use.

 

In order to successfully install GlobeMeeting™, you must have the proper installation rights on the computer(s) where it will be installed. If you do not have the rights to install software on your computer(s), please contact your IT department and send them this link, explaining all of GlobeMeeting™ Technical Specs.

 

Minimal system configuration

Pentium III 1 GHz

Windows XP with 512Mb of RAM

Standard sound card (or USB headset with microphone)*

Network Interface card, cable/DSL high-speed modem or equivalent

Webcam (for video capture & display) (optional)

Audio headset with microphone (no integrated microphone)*

High-speed Internet access

 

* If you do not have a sound card and/or an audio headset with microphone, you can communicate by telephone for all audio communications while being in GlobeMeeting™

 

Network/Firewall configuration

This section is for computers that are located on a Firewall/NAT protected network.

 

In order for GlobeMeeting™ to work properly, some features must be supported and activated on the firewall and some ports may need to be opened.

 

Features

The Firewall must support VoIP (Voice over IP)

NAT: The consistent NAT option (or similar) must be activated

    3478-3479 (UDP)     //STUN (UDP over NAT Traversal)

    16000-20000 (UDP) //RTP Communications

 

Outgoing rules

    80 (TCP)         //Standard Web Communications

     443 (TCP)       //Secured communications with GlobeMeeting

    5060 (UDP)    //SIP Communications

    3478-3479 (UDP)     //STUN (UDP over NAT Traversal)
     1024-65535 (UDP) //NAT ‘returning’ communications, dynamic ports
